Results are out

We have all been sitting around watching Anglia News which has given us and gliding some excellent coverage. Russell Cheetham, Steve Jones and Peter Harvey all got to do a piece whilst the GP referee, Bob Henderson gave a "live" piece at around 18:20. Scoring is progressing but there might be some speed issues and we need to get it right! So please be patient.

Just the one land-out: Mike Jordy in C6 and he and his glider are OK.

Results - provisional

1st E1 Russell Cheetham
2nd E4 Phil Jones
3rd Z27 Chris Curtis
4th K1 Steve Jones
5th K5 Peter Harvey

The conditions were so good that there was even talk of going around again - it is allowed for in the rules and we may see some 2nd runs at a task with the first lap being completed at around 1000ft. However, Phil Jeffery and Lemmy Tanner are probably quite relieved to get back. No great surprises except that the ASG29 has chalked up another success. However, wait for the formal results which are being processed right now. If you get Anglia TV, tune in tonight at 18:00 for some great gliding coverage most of which happens under 30ft.

Conditions: Just heard that they have 4000ft and 3 knot thermal strength with excellent visibility. The TV crew from Anglia TV covered the start and will be here for an exciting finish.

They have all launched into improving conditions and the change to Royston as the first point has turned out well. Only Pete Harvey comes back for a change of clothes - he blames the Camelbak!!
